Making Friends in Dubai

If you've been following me for a while, then you know that Zach and I love booking long layovers within our travels. It's the perfect way to have a mini-trip as well as break up long hours of traveling! We just had our 3rd long layover in Dubai on our way to Africa, and we couldn't wait to explore this wonderful city once again. ((For a full guide of things to do + see, make sure to read my previous post 'Dubai In A Day!'))

For this trip, Zach and I really wanted to explore the spice and gold souks. We have seen so many photos of the area and found it to be so intriguing. Unfortunately it was a holiday so most of them were closed, but there were a few open here and there for us to get a taste of what it normally looks like... but we definitely plan on going back some time for the full experience! We also spent some time walking around Old Dubai and shooting by the wooden cargo ships that line the waterfront. It was so cool to see, and we even got invited onto one of the ships by a local! One of our favorite parts about traveling is getting to meet locals and making new friends, so this was probably the highlight of our entire time in Dubai. We loved every minute of it! :)

For siteseeing, I wore my white button up shirt from Madewell since the sun is so hot in Dubia, my Superdry necktie, Silver Jeans denim, and strappy Steve Madden sandals for comfort. To accessorize the look, I carried my new Fossil crossbody ((which is perfect for traveling because it's small but has many zipper compartments to store whatever you need!)), and my favorite rose gold watch.

If any of you ever get the chance to travel to (or stop over in) Dubai, let me know and I'd be happy to share even more recommendations!! I couldn't recommend it more highly!
